SESC
is a national, private, non-profit institution, created in 1946 by businessmen in the commerce and services sector, that are administratively responsible for the institution until today. The financial resources to maintain the institution derive from compulsory contributions made by the employers in that sector, in the value of 1,5% of their payroll.
It is up to the institution to promote the social well being, improvement in the quality of life and the cultural development of the workers in the commerce and services sector, their families and the community in general.
